Geelong Seniors Festival

The Geelong Seniors Festival is the largest community celebration for seniors in regional Victoria.

Held throughout the month of October (1-31 October), the Festival features a huge variety of events and experiences, including competitions, workshops, dances, concerts and tours.

The Geelong Seniors Festival is a major partner of the statewide Victorian Seniors Festival which will be staged from 4-11 October in 2009.

Why we do this

Geelong Seniors Festival recognises the valuable contribution older people make to Geelong and aims to promote positive ageing within the community.

What you can expect

As well as being a great opportunity to get out and about for little or no cost, the Festival provides a rare insight into what is on in Geelong for the rest of the year as most of the events are staged by local clubs and interest groups.

The Companion Card is welcome at all Geelong Seniors Festival events.

Common questions

Question
Discover More Circuit Bus - Do I need to book?
No - it is not necessary to book the bus during the Seniors Festival.  However, if you are travelling with a group it would be helpful to let us know in advance so that we can cater for the expected demand.

Question
Discover More Circuit Bus - What is this?

We are providing 2 buses for the Discover More Circuit on 8 October 2008.

The buses operate on the hour with the circuit expected to take approximately 15-20 minutes.  As a result there is room for some flexibility on the day so that if those present wish to stop for 20 minutes at the Botanical Gardens this may be possible.

There will also be Geelong Otway Tourism volunteers acting as tour guides on the day.

The circuit route will not be varied but groups wishing to visit other places, eg Smorgy's, will be pointed in the right direction by the volunteers.
